Effect of engine rotation speed and gear ratio on the acoustic emission of John Deere 1055I combine harvester CIGR Journal
Jahanbakhshi, Ahmad; Ghamari, Bahram; Heidarbeigi, Kobra.
One of the problems of agricultural mechanization is noises caused by the use of machines. The noises should be evaluated due to the negative effects on health and safety level of humans working in this field. However, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of gear ratio and engine rotation speed on acoustic noise of John Deere 1055I combine harvester. The experiments were done based on sound international standards ISO 5131, ISO 7216 and the World Health Organization considering different levels of engine rotation speed (1800 and 2500 r/min), gear ratio (1, 2 and 3 H) and distance from the driver ear (10 cm, 7.5 m and 20 m). Three replications were considered for each treatment. The obtained data was analyzed by factorial test based on...

Factors affecting farmers’ satisfactions with mechanized rice harvesting in Malaysian paddy fields: A case study of hiring custom operators CIGR Journal
El Pebrian, Darius.
Shortage of labor during the harvest season is one of the problematic situations for farmers in the Malaysian paddy fields.  Thus, combine harvester has been utilized massively in Malaysian paddy field for the purpose of assisting the farmers to overcome the problems.  Majority use of combine harvesters in the country was provided by the state farmers’ organization that offers custom operators to be hired by the farmers during harvesting seasons.  A case study was conducted to identify and rank the factors that affect farmers’ current satisfactions with mechanized harvesting using combine harvesters that offered by custom operators.  A group of farmers comprising of 336 respondents at rice granaries in Tanjung Karang district, Selangor, Malaysiawas chosen...

Investigation of Harvesting Track and Heading Change of Paddy Harvester using Geo-referenced Data CIGR Journal
Ali, Md. Rostom.
Global Positioning System (GPS) is a global navigation satellite system that provides geo-location and time information to a GPS receiver anywhere on or near the Earth. Machine operation track, turning pattern, effective time of field operation, field capacity, field efficiency, machine idle time, etc. can be evaluated precisely by using geo-referenced data recorded by a GPS receiver during field operations. Highly precise GPS receivers are expensive and unaffordable for farmers and farm operators in Bangladesh. Keeping this in mind the scope of an affordable and easy to handle GPS receiver was explored in the study. A GPS receiver was used to record the data generated by combine harvester and mini combine harvester during harvesting. Data were recorded...

ปัจจัยการทำงานที่มีผลต่อความสูญเสียจากการเก็บเกี่ยวข้าวโดยใช้เครื่องเกี่ยวนวด Thai Agricultural
สมชาย ชวนอุดม.
This article presented the important of rice combine harvester and the operating of the 3 main components of rice combine harvester causing harvesting losses were the header unit, threshing unit and cleaning unit. The operating factors of the header unit were reel index, cutting speed, age of cutter and grain moisture content. The perating factors of the threshing unit were rotor speed, louver inclination, feed rate, grain moisture content and grain to material other than grain ratio. The operating factors of the cleaning unit were sieve inclination, sieve speed, sieve diameter, air speed, grain moisture contend, feed rate and sieve bulk head.
